Logan

I have bought a Logan almost an year back...today after being so pissed off...I thought of creating this Blog so that people who are thinking of buying this car think twice before they actually do so. I bought the Diesel version almost an year back and I have no doubts in saying that this car is box of problems only. There is nothing which this car has which is worth appreciating. The pump in this car is faulty. I had driven my car for nearly 10000kms and it broke down in the middle of the road on the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway. The service station told me that there is pump which moves the coolant, has gone faulty. Infact he owed up that there have been a number of cars who have reported the same problem. He said I was lucky that the coolant did not move into the engine, else the engine would have to be replaced. However, it took them nearly 5 days to solve this problem. Then came the second problem, the door ratchets. After you shut down the door, and drove your car, you always kept hearing some noise as if the door wasn't shut down. For once, I thought, there was something lying in the car which kep making the noise. However, later on when it for its service, I was told that all Logans had faulty door ratchets and the company is replacing it free of cost.
Now the summers have come, it has been nearly an year that I bought the car. I had gone to Jaipur for a day and kept sweating, despite the AC being at full. I thought probably it was that hot in Jaipur that the AC became ineffective. I also thought maybe Mahindra has not designed it's AC keeping hot places like Jaipur in mind. Or maybe the design engineer's thought that the entire India was like Shimla when they designed AC. Since 2 days back, the AC became totally ineffective. I also started getting messages and calls from Mahindra saying that there is a free AC check up camp. I drove down my car today to one of the service centers and I reported my problem. The service advisor told me that there is some manufacturing defect with the cooling coil of AC and the company is aware of this problem, thus they have organised this camp and are going to replace the AC unit in the car or replace the defective part.

It has been 14 months of misery with this car and I am surprised how Mahindra has rolled out such a car on the Indian roads. It is a total piece of crap which even a crap dealer does not want to buy. I really wish people read this review before they make a decision to buy this car... and I really wish Mahindra has some shame in them left so that they recall all their cars back rather than looting people like me, who have worked hard to buy a car...
